The Hurricanes have been involved in the Australian National League Water Polo competition since 2006, with the club entering a men's team in its maiden season. In 2007 the club expanded its involvement to enter a women's team. The Hunter Hurricanes is the only regional team in the Australian National League Water Polo competition.
The Hurricanes also compete at junior level in regional, state and national competitions, in both boys and girls. The club prides itself on being the pathway for regional players of all ages to play in the highest level of competition in Australia.
The Hurricanes are one of only a few Newcastle teams in a truly national competition. Success as a club comes from the commitment of the players and coaching staff as well as support from our sponsors and the community.
